Comments on how to fix oil pressure sending unit on a Toyota 4 Runner:
also there is a screen under the sensor that should be replaced (part number 12585328 lifter oil filter).  replaced my sensor twice and had the same issue. replaced the screen and the issue went away.
Is that filter under the sensor?
... looks like this is where my '97 Pontiac Trans Sport has been leaking. Finally got bad enough I could watch it drip. Repair shop wanted $700 to fix (oil pan gasket - it is actually a bear to fix in these vans). Hopefully this will take care of it for good. What a fuster cluck. BTW what is the sealer to use?
Whats the purpose of changing that?
Having the same problem, replaced and still have the same problem...WHAT NEXT???
Well done!
Great video, did it solve the issue? Ive got the exact same symptoms on my 2000 Excursion. I am in Colorado, only started happening for me when the temps started going below 40 last fall. Thanks for posting, I have had a hard time finding these symptoms in the forums.
Nope, you do not need to drain the oil before performing this job. The sensor is in a pressurized oil passage so therefore the amount of oil in the oil pan will not make a difference.
Best video Iv found on doing this kind of stuff yet

Thanks, Ryan. I had a similar problem with my 2003 Silverado, where my oil pressure gauge showed a constant 79-80 psi of oil pressure. The new sending unit fixed the problem, and your video was very helpful. I really appreciate it.
1 of MANY issues with these 09-14 F150s. Ford really ... up on these pieces of shits. I bought mine new and pretty much rebuilt the entire engine, suspension, tranny, whole damn truck. Coulda bought 5 Dodge Rams by now and not spent a dime in repairs. First Ford truck and definitely my last. 2hrs in and can't even get it to unclip.
